Established in 2008, the African Nutrition Society (ANS) is a registered scientific professional body, a learned society formed by nutritional scientists, food scientists and other health professionals working in, and with an interest in the nutrition agenda for Africa. ANS was established as an umbrella organization among others, to develop and promote the nutrition profession in Africa and to oversee the Africa Nutrition Conference (formerly Africa Nutritional Epidemiology conferences - ANEC) which have been running since 2002.
